Friday, June 17, 2005: Lauren
Finally, little Lauren is asleep. She looks so precious and we love her so much! This is the last photo in the blog album Justine Marie and Lauren Ann - Part 3. For some crazy reason, when I add another photo to this album, the first several photos disappear. I thought it only did that after about 32 photos, but on this one it's doing it at around 26. So be sure to click on Justine Marie and Lauren Ann - Part 4 for the continuation of the story. Although at this rate, there could very well be a Part 5, and a Part 6!

Be sure to scroll to the bottom of the page and move upward to maintain the proper sequence. And click on the prompt on the upper left called "View my complete profile" to see my other blog albums.

Thanks for looking!

Friday, June 17, 2005: Lexi
We haven't mentioned Lexi, Connie and Troy's little Bischon, much in this blog album, but she's definitely an important part of this story. She's holding down the fort at home (albeit sleeping in this case) while Connie and Troy spend a lot of time at the hospital. We wonder how Lexi will react when the babies come home, after being the only baby in the family for the past five years. But she's a real sweetie and will likely be just fine.

Lauren's all snuggled up, but still with eyes open, in Connie's lap and at 2 lbs-9 oz, she now weighs what Justine weighed when she was born. It's taken Lauren a month of growing to catch up to Justine. Hard work for a tiny preemie, but she's done beautifully!

Wednesday, June 15, 2005: Lauren, Up Close and Personal
Lauren is so alert all the time! Here she appears to be trying to concentrate on something and frowning a little to do so. And all this at one month old and less than 2 1/2 lbs. She is so sweet!

Wednesday, June 15, 2005: Connie and Justine
This is a great picture of Connie with her little Justine, who is now 3 lbs-14 oz. Connie still looks tired, but she's glowing and happy.

Wednesday, June 15, 2005: Justine and Lauren
This is a perfect opportunity to get some photos of the babies together for the first time, a month after they were born 10 weeks premature. As usual Justine is sleeping through this historic occasion and Lauren is wide awake!

Wednesday, June 15, 2005: Justine, Troy and Lauren
What a huge day - Troy gets to hold both babies! Typically Lauren is handled less because she's so tiny and handling sometimes is upsetting for such a tiny baby. But on this Wednesday evening, both babies are being held, although they seem to be sleeping right through it! They are one month old.

Sunday, June 12, 2005: Troy, Connie and Lauren
Well, I guess the nurses took Justine away from Troy since he's so irresponsible - ha, ha, ha!! Connie looks tired here as she feeds Lauren with the tube.

Sunday, June 12, 2005: Justine
It's amazing that the nurses allowed this, but Troy said no one was concerned, least of all Justine!

Sunday, June 12, 2005: Justine and Troy
This is hysterical! Troy looks very tired and somehow Justine has gotten herself twisted out of his arms and she appears to be dangling sideways. She looks pretty unaffected by it, though, and Troy evidently hasn't a care in the world!

Sunday, June 12, 2005: Preemie Clothes for Justine!
This is a big day! Justine got to wear preemie clothes for the first time! At almost one month old, she's still very tiny and the preemie clothes are big, but she looks so cute in them!

Sunday, June 12, 2005: Lauren
What a sweet picture of Lauren sleeping on Connie's chest. This is all part of the bonding process. Troy and Connie are at the hospital at least once, if not more, each day to help feed the babies, change them, and most importantly bond with them!

Friday, June 10, 2005: Troy and Lauren
This is such a great shot of Troy feeding Lauren with her little feeding tube. She's not taking a lot of breast milk at this point, but every little bit helps her to grow.

Friday, June 10, 2005: Lauren
Here's tiny Lauren all unwrapped. I don't think she's so comfortable being exposed. It's easier to see how little she is compared to the hand that's holding her up.

Friday, June 10, 2005: Justine
This huge pacifier is used to help the babies learn to suck. But this looks ridiculous. In fact, they need to cut the top part off this pacifier so Justine can breath!

Friday, June 10, 2005: Connie, Justine, Troy, Lauren
This is another great shot of Connie and Troy feeding the girls through their tubes. This became a ritual when Troy would meet them at the hospital after work. His company's building is only a mile or so from the hospital, so it's convenient. Connie has been on leave from work and is home recovering from her C Section surgery.

Friday, June 10, 2005: Connie and Justine
This photo is too cute - tiny Justine is all bundled up and being fed. The babies feel more secure when they're "swaddled" tightly in a receiving blanket.

Friday, June 10, 2005: Connie and Justine
Time for Justine to get another feeding, via the tube. It sure looks like she's staring right into Connie's eyes, but we're not sure she can really see clearly at this early age of 3 1/2 weeks old.

Wednesday, June 8, 2005: Sweet Lauren
Here Lauren is finally sleeping - she's usually the one who is kicking and moving around. It's good to see her sleeping so peacefully on this Wednesday evening. She's about 3 weeks old here.

Sunday, June 5, 2005: Lauren and Connie
I couldn't resist posting this photo of Lauren and Connie kangarooing. Lauren looks so very cute with her little mouth open.

Sunday, June 5, 2005: Lauren
Still connected to those pesky tubes with tape, Lauren manages to sleep right through it!

Sunday, June 5, 2005: Justine and Connie
One of the special things that Troy and Connie are able to do is something called "kangarooing" with the babies. When the baby is stable enough, they are placed on the parents' chest for some skin-on-skin bonding. It's very special for both parent and baby. In this shot, Connie and Justine are kangarooing. Justine is now 3 weeks old and she's still very tiny. Don't you just love those little pink knit caps?
